soup bone
stew meat
onion
salt
pepper
carrots green beans
celery peas
rutabeggar cabbage
turnips tble of butter
rice
barley
parsley
chives
corn


Instructions:

in a big kettle boil a soup bone and the stew meat cut up in bite size pieces (water fills kettle about 3/4 full) add salt and pepper to taste maybe a couple tbls salt and 1 tbls pepper you can always add more after boiling for a while, remove the brown junk on top of the water turn down a little but so it still boils softly with cover partially on add the cut up vegetables you want in your soup. i use almost a whole pack of celery, a couple small bag of carrots. 1 rutabeggar in none are available then add 3 or 4 turnips - peal the turnips and rutabeggar add white rice and or barley to help thicken the pot add one generous tbls of butter to help mellow the soup add any other vegetables you wish and cook on a low boil until veggies are done. May add dumplings if you like then cook until they are done
